The Rural Plains Foundation is actively recruiting new volunteers!
The Foundation works with the National Park Service to maintain and promote the Totopotomoy Creek Battlefield at Rural Plains, 7273 Studley Road, Mechanicsville.
- Passionate about history? We can use weekend tour guides, as well as writers, speakers, and re-enactors. ON and off-site archeology projects can also use volunteer aid.
- If you love nature and being outdoors, perhaps you can help maintain gardens, grow boxwood cuttings, control invasive species, observe birds and wildlife, or help monitor and maintain earthworks and trails.
- We’d also like to hear from anyone interested in assisting with hospitality (food/décor) and organizing special events.
Please let us know if you are interested. You can reach The Foundation via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or telephone (804-277-4727, leave a message). If you need more information, call Volunteer Coordinator Darshell Fox at 804-723-5460.
